About BIRC

Bainbridge Island Rowing Club is a community-based, non-profit organization founded in 2001. A recreational and competitive rowing club, its purpose is to promote all facets of the sport of rowing. BIRC activities take place at Waterfront Park on Bainbridge Island and throughout the greater Puget Sound area. BIRC is a member of the United States Rowing Association, Northwest Region.

The goals of BIRC are to:

  • Introduce the public at large to the sport of rowing
  • Provide rowing, training, and related programs for juniors and adults, novice and experienced rowers alike
  • Provide coaching and education for rowers, coxswains, and others interested in supporting BIRC
  • Provide training for local, regional, and national rowing competition
Membership is open to anyone interested in actively participating or in simply supporting crew on Bainbridge.
